Polonaise

The polonaise (Polish: polonez) is a dance of Polish origin, in 3/4 time.

The polonaise had a rhythm quite close to that of the Swedish semiquaver or sixteenth-note polska, and the two dances have a common origin.

Polonaise is a widespread dance in carnival parties.

Polonaise is always a first dance at a studniówka ("hundred-days"), the Polish equivalent of the senior prom that occurs approximately 100 days before exams.

By Raquel and Joana

This morning we practiced the theater and traditional dances at school. Than we went to Sobin and we did a barbecue. We liked the visit because is interesting to see how miners act in case of accidents.
Now we are having free time with our hosts and having a good time. And we are excited to see tomorrow their polish class. Kisses from Kinga and Martyna.

Polonaise

Today, in the morning, we learn how to dance a traditional Polish dance called Polonaise.

In this past two days we went to Krakow and we visited two mines. The first one is deactivated and transformed in a youth hotel. It had disco, restaurant and a basketball court :o the animations of the guide visit was super cool. the second one is UNESCO world heritage center and we had 3 hours inside visiting. We had a 2 km walk and we were like 150 km underground. the most amazing thing was the fact of the miners used to do sculptures at free time and all of the sculptures on this mine were made my them except two that were made by a professional. One of them had the luck of being paid to go study to another country  and complete his collection on the mine. I 'm having a really great time.

Our adventure in the mines began at Bochnia.
Getting down, make the bed, making a tour for knowing more about the importance of the mine.

In the chapel, inside the mine.

Making a tour, feeling like Indiana Jones.

Our bedroom!!!! All together. We slept a few hours.....
... and was time to get out of Bochnia and visit

Hi!

My name is Rafael and I'm 16 years old.

I was born in 20 th January 1997 in Almada, where I spent all my life untill now.

I like to play sports and videogames and my favourite subjects in school are Maths and Physics.
This project is interesting to me, because we can know people with the same age as us from other countries, which allows us to share our culture and learn about other cultures. Although I spent all my life in Portugal I like to travel and I have already been in some european capitals, such as Madrid, Paris, London and Prague.
